ADIA Governance & Leadership — Board charter

Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) is the peak business organisation representing suppliers of products and services to dental practices. To ensure that the ADIA Board's work to advance the interests of members is both understood and transparent, the ADIA Board Charter was created.

The ADIA Board Charter is broadly consistent with that of other advanced not-for-profit organisations. It sets out the job description and overall role of the ADIA Board from the composition, purpose, role and responsibilities to job descriptions for its subcommittees.

A seminal document, the ADIA Board Charter enables Directors, and the ADIA membership, to have a shared understanding of how the Board works. A copy of this document can be downloaded from the link below:

ADIA Board Charter — Current Version

The ADIA Board Charter serves to provide concise guidance on the composition, purpose, role, and responsibilities of the ADIA Board and its subcommittees. It is one of many initiatives created to provide an enhanced understanding of, and transparency for, ADIA’s operations.

Since it was founded in 1925, the organisation has operated under a number of legal structures and following a review of governance arrangements, in 2014 at a general meeting members approved the transition to a company limited by guarantee operating in accordance with the framework set out in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) administered by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). The endorsement of the ADIA Board Charter in 2015 reflects the continual evolution and strengthening of the Association's governance infrastructure.
