Training — Graduate Certificate in Management

An innovative partnership between Charles Sturt University (CSU) and the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) provides a clear path for professionals transitioning from a career in sales to general management.

The two organisations have combined to offer the ADIA-CSU Graduate Certificate in Small Business Management to help dental sales professionals in their career development. This CSU qualification equips new and established business owners and managers within the dental industry with the skills necessary to lift productivity. This provides a defined career path for individuals associated with the distribution of dental products.

The ADIA-CSU Graduate Certificate in Small Business Management is ideal for sales professionals that have either set up their own business, or are looking to enter senior management in a role other than sales and marketing. The course requires completion of three core subjects:

The course structure has been designed to reflect the needs of the dental industry. Students are assigned to business-cycle clusters (e.g. start-up or growth), providing networking opportunities and direct applications of knowledge. The use of action learning processes means that students can benchmark their current management processes and develop practical insights to grow their business.

The ADIA-CSU Graduate Certificate in Small Business Management offers a flexible mode of learning. Online distance education study enables dental industry professionals from across Australia to work with colleagues from different industry sectors, and within different business cycles. All of the subjects are offered by distance education, allowing completion of the course without being on campus.

This, along with the option to study full or part time, means minimal business disruption whilst at the same time providing the same student support as on-campus students.
